William’s road to recovery continues and we couldn’t have been more pleased to read this update on William’s website this morning. “William’s condition has improved enough for him to be moved out of the intensive care unit. He remains in hospital in France. His family remain hugely grateful to the fantastic team looking after him and to everyone for all the messages and support.” William was injured on Oct. 24, 2015 while on cross-country after coming off his horse Reinstated during CCI2* at Le Lion-d’Angers World Young Horse Championships in France. 92 pairs contesting Burghley – Here is the drawn order Events,Missed it?

The drawn order has been announced for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials CCI4* on September 3rd to 6th. Currently, there are 92 duos set to compete but there have been 95 numbers assigned because two riders have multiple entries that they will not be riding. Oliver Townend has four mounts listed but will only ride three. Pippa Funnel has three horses listed but she is only going to ride two. William Fox-Pitt (GBR), the multiple Olympic, World and European medallist, is back as world Eventing number one after victory in last month’s Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, fourth leg of the FEI Classics™. As all eventers know too well, it is an excruciatingly rare to a non-existent occurrence to compete at an event without some type of a hitch, things are simply never 100-percent perfect. Can Thoroughbreds still win at the CCI4* level? Events

The Thoroughbreds at Rolex Kentucky this past weekend did not demonstrate a level of competitiveness that could get them on the podium. When the final penalty points were tallied, Donner the OTTB piloted by Lynn Symansky was the top placing Thoroughbred in 12th place. After putting in a respectable dressage score of 52.7 and starting in 32nd place, the pair steadily moved up the leaderboard. To their dressage score they added time penalties on cross-country and one rail in stadium to end the weekend on a final score of 67.5. One might think that 12th is a competitive placing, however,…

Day two of dressage at Rolex Kentucky brought out the best tests and the top riders in full force. If the draw is random I don’t know but it seems like the best was saved for the last.
