In 2015, Michael Jung (GER) has won 11 FEI events  and Marilyn Little (USA) is close behind, winning 10 FEI events. The majority of Michael’s wins have been at the three and four-star level, while Marilyn’s wins have been primarily at the two and three-star level. With Marilyn, we cannot forget that she has only been Eventing since 2010. Her success and wins are the result of only five years in Eventing. It will be fascinating to follow Marilyn’s mounts to…

Did the Thoroughbreds deliver at Rolex Kentucky? Events,Rolex 2015

The handsome, vigilant and spirited horse was ideal when the sport of Eventing, featured the long-format, where the horse’s endurance, fitness and conditioning were paramount. Thoroughbreds offer a certain presence, and their boldness, confidence and courage have enabled them to remain competitive. The change in format hasn’t dissuaded upper level riders from competing Thoroughbreds or ex-racehorses and that was very obvious at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event CCI4* where out of the 75 riders that started the competition, 26 of them were sitting on Thoroughbreds. Medal winners – produced not bought Good to know,Horses,Missed it?,Riders

Since the 2014 WEG, there is no shortage of discussion and blogs as to why North American Eventers cannot beat their European counterparts. Some obvious advantages include: availability of more competitions, an existing owner culture that is part of the social fabric, access to top training, and plenty of horse breeders. However, it is worth studying the methods and circumstances of the medal winning combinations to determine what separates them from the rest of us. Long-term partnerships It took six years of FEI competitions for Sandra Auffarth (GER) and Opgun Luovo to conquer the Eventing world and win individual Gold…
