Canadians add seven Advanced horses to the ranks – Go Canada! Events

The Canadian roster of Advanced horses has just deepened with the addition of seven who proved themselves this weekend at Richland Park Horse Trials in Kalamazoo, Michigan. To keep up with the Richland H.T. action all weekend: [Website] [Times] [Results]   The leader board shuffle took its toll on some Canadians while others are moving on up. But we are happy to report that after show-jumping and cross-country, we still have some competitive pairs in the top 10, in multiple divisions. On Sunday, it is cross-country day for the Advanced, CIC3* and CIC2*. Her last time competing in the Rolex stadium was in 2009 riding Woodstock at the North American Young Rider Championships. Six years later, Ellie MacPhail is on track to head back to Lexington, this time contesting her first four-star. This past weekend, Ellie and RF Eloquence (Bobby), a 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding, placed 2nd at the CIC3* Poplar Farm Horse Trials. After scoring a 48 in dressage, Ellie and Bobby kept their second place position from beginning to end. When Imperial Melody (Mel) came into Cody Sturgess’ life, Rolex was but a dream for the then 15 year old rider. Mel was supposed to be a resale project. Ben Along Time (Ben) is living out every person’s horse’s dream of retiring in sunny Ocala, Florida. He seems more than content with his new home, arriving at Clayton Fredericks’ Greenbrier Stables this week after making the long trek from Hong Kong, China. Ben was in an active retirement in Hong Kong with his owners, Edwin and Peta McAuley, who were spoiling him rotten.
