Ireland wins team gold – 2014 Euro Junior Champs

Anna Wilks on Touch of Pleasure, European Juniors Championships 2014 individual gold medal winner Seven riders were all within a rail of the gold medal and anxiety was running high with riders and spectators at the European Juniors Championships 2014, earlier today. Clear rounds were attainable but fence eight, the blue oxer, and the fence nine, the two stride combination, ruined clear rounds for many riders. However, the course was no issue for the overnight leader, Great Britain’s Anna Wilks, 17. With a flawless round, she easily won the individual gold medal on her home turf finishing on her dressage…

2014 Burghley undressed course preview

Galloping over 6500 m with 32 jumping fences and 45 jumping efforts will be the task at hand for some of the world’s best eventing combinations. Burghley begins less than a week after the WEG Eventing competition. Many of the riders will be leaving France and heading directly to the most daunting four star competition on the planet. Michael Jung trounces at Altensteig CIC*

Winning on his dressage score of 33.90, Michael could have taken down 4 rails and still won the division. In second place was Anja Beifuss riding De Negro 2 with 50.1 and close behind in third place was Jürgen Allgöwer on Wellerin de Waidhof with 51.2. Over 60 competitors contested the CIC1*. Joachim Jung, Michael’s father was the commentator at the event under perfect sunny skies. Thank you to Kerstin Hoffmann, our eyes and ears in Germany, for the update and great pictures. Wits End wrap up

Breathtaking views, acres of rolling hills, and challenging courses were the backdrop for Wits End Horse Trials in Mulmur, Ontario this past weekend. The province’s eventing community was out in full force with over 150 horses competing. It was a treat for spectators and riders to have Jessica Phoenix competing before she flies to Europe on Tuesday for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy. Hartpury: Burton wins, the Prices take 2nd and 3rd

Christopher Burton on his WEG mount took the win with a 44.2, finishing on his dressage score at the NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials CIC3*. Tim Price on Wesko his WEG mount finished second and his, wife Jonelle Price on Classic Moet took third with a 48.7. Both Tim and Jonelle will be competing at WEG. Burton and Jonelle Price were the only two to make the time on Eric Winter’s updated course. Rebecca Farm adds 2015 CCI***

The Event at Rebecca Farm near Kalispell, Montana, is one of the largest and most prestigious events on the West coast.
