Rider with the most starts
Andrew Nicholson (NZL) has had an impressive 11 starts and has only not finished once, in 2013 he had a fall with Qwanza on cross-country. His personal best however, was also in 2013 when he won aboard Mr Cruise Control. This weekend, he is set to compete Perfect Stranger and Qwanza in this four-star event.

Horse with the most starts
Andrew Nicholson’s Mr Cruise Control has competed at Luhmuhlen four times in the last six years. His best result was a win in 2013 but he was also 4th in 2010, 14th in 2011 and 26th in 2012. Not a bad record!

Dressage

  • 30 tests have scored tests below 40.
  • The lowest dressage score was a 31.8 and was achieved by Lucinda Fredericks (AUS) riding Flying Finish in 2012, but they added some cross-country time penalties to their score to finish the event in 2nd place behind Michael Jung (GER) and Leopin FST.
  • Highest dressage score was in 2013, Bettina Hoy’s (GER) Lafranco had a meltdown in the ring and they scored an 80.8. Bettina decided it was no their weekend and withdrew after dressage.

Cross-country and show jumping

  • A decent 21% of the starters have made time on cross-country with 56 quick pairs managing to beat the clock.
  • A healthy 53% of the starters have finished without cross-country jumping penalties, with 144 duos making it around with clear jumping.
  • A mere 13% of the starters have managed to deliver double clear show jumping rounds with only 37 talented pairs pulling off this accomplishment.

Scores

  • Ingrid Klimke (GER) and FRH Escada JS delivered the lowest final score last year, clinching the title on a 32.7.
  • The highest final score was Aistis Vitkauskas (LTU) riding AK’s Galopper, with 165.3, in 2011. Maybe it was not an ideal weekend for them but they still finished the event safe and sound.

Top 10

  • 20% (21) of the female starters finished in the top 10
  • 24% (39) of the male starters finished in the top 10

Winners

  • No rider has won Luhmuhlen multiple times.
  • Germany has had the most winners; Andreas Dibowski and FRH Butts Leaon won in 2011, Michael Jung and Leopin FST clinched the victory in 2012, and Ingrid Klimke and FRH Escada were the 2015 champions.
