If you love Eventing trivia, we have lots to share. Our resident Eventing Geek has delved into our database to bring you all sorts of useless (but interesting) Eventing information. Enjoy this year’s first edition of Facts and Stats – Rolex 2010-2015:



  • Since 2010, 337 duos have tried conquering this four-star track.
  • 213 starters have been women, 124 have been men.

  • This is not an easy event to finish; the completion rate of only 58%, with 197 finishers.
  • 117 women finished (55%), 80 men finished (65%).

Rider with the most starts
Phillip Dutton (AUS) has more starts than any other rider with a whopping 15 on 10 different horses. (Woodburn, The Forman, Kheops Du Quesnay, Waterfront, Fernhill Eagle, Mighty Nice, Trading Aces, Mr Medicott, Fernhill Cubalawn and Fernhill Fugitive). In the past six years, he has landed a top ten finish six times, with his highest placing being a 2nd on Woodburn in 2010.

Horse with the most starts
Parker, ridden by James Allison (GBR) has competed five times (2011-2015) at Rolex, in the last six years. He only did not complete the event in 2012, as he was eliminated on cross-country. This super horse has never had a cross-country time or jump penalty.


  • 8 riders have delivered tests below 40.
  • Lowest dressage score was William Fox-Pitt (GBR) on Chilli Morning with 33.3 in 2013. They retired on cross-country however, this pair won Badminton last year.
  • Dressage machine – Michael Jung (GER)delivered two scores in the 30s in one year. In 2015, scored a 36.3 on La Biosthetique Sam FBW and 39.3 on Fishcerrocana.
  • Highest dressage score was in 2010, Kelly Prather (USA) and Ballinakill Glory scored of 91.5. They were Eliminated on cross-country.

Cross-country and show jumping

  • A respectable 16% of the starters have made time on cross-country with 54 pairs in total managing to beat the clock.
  • A reasonable 33% of the starters have finished without cross-country jumping penalties, with 110 duos making it around with clear jumping.
  • Only 16% of the starters have managed to deliver double clear show jumping rounds with only 53 riders keeping the poles in the cup and not getting a time penalty.


  • The lowest final score was delivered last year by the legendary, Michael Jung (GER) riding Fischerrocana FST, winning on 39.3.
  • The highest final score was Amanda Wilson (USA) riding Cool Decision, with 201.6, last year. Maybe not the score they were hoping for but they got it done and conquered the only four-star in North America.

Top 10

  • 12% (25) of the female starters finished in the top 10
  • 28% (35) of the male starters finished in the top 10


  • William Fox-Pitt has earned the most wins, claiming the title in 2010 with Cool Mountain, 2012 with Parklane Hawk and 2014 aboard Bay My Hero.

  • Only one woman has won in the past six years; Mary King and Kings Temptress in 2011. Mary was also runner-up on Fernhill Urco.
