The Queen out for a hack: Her Majesty the Queen was out for a ride on the ground of Windsor Castle, along with her head groom, Terry Pendry. The Queen is 89-years-old and still riding. She is clearly the most awesome monarch ever!

62-year-old rider’s horse spooks into a ditch: Jenny Sambrook was out hacking her 15hh Connemara cross, Pearl, when a large truck went speeding by them causing Pearl to spook into the ditch and fall. Luckily both of them escaped with only minor injuries but Jenny is shaken up by the ordeal and urging drivers to slow down when passing horses. Will people ever learn to pass horses with respect?

Concussion research: For the first time a study has been done combining imaging scans with recording of the brain’s electrical activity to reveal how damage to the protective coating around the brain’s circuitry affects how quickly children and teens can process and recall information after a head injury. The brain’s nerve fibres are encased in a fatty tissue called myelin that protect brain signals as they travel through the brain. Find out what the study revealed about how the damage to the myelin tissue impacts the brain’s function.
