Andreas Dibowski – Dominates with a one, two, three punch

Andreas Dibowski on Chardonnay de L’Ocean

Out in full force and as a final prep before Burghley, Andreas Dibowski owned the leaderboard at the CIC2* at Hambach, Germany, this weekend.

Winning on Chardonnay de L’Ocean, a seven year old gelding, he added only 1.6 cross-country time penalties to his dressage score and finished on a 50.0 in a field of 52 riders.

In a rare occurrence, he finished on another 50.0 earning second place on his four star mount, FRH Butts Avedon, an 11 year old gelding. Accumulating less than one penalty point more in time on cross- country than his winning ride, the tie was broken because Chardonnay de L’Ocean was closest to optimum time.

Dibowski rounded out the top three spots with third place on FRH Eskadia a nine year old mare, finishing on 50.2. Consistent riding or what?

After riding for Germany at the the last three WEG, Dibowski didn’t make the cut this year. Germany has a deep pool of talent and many are thinking they are the team to beat.

For those top riders not going to WEG, there is Burghley the following week. Having retired there last year on cross-country after delivering a competitive 42 in dressage, Dibowski and FRH Butts Avedon are entered and looking for retribution.
