Mary King’s daughter competing at Junior European Championships 2014


A field of 78 riders are battling it out at the 2014 Junior European Champions currently under way.  Sixteen European nations have sent their most promising up and coming eventers for four days of top notch competition. This year, the event is being held at one of  the United Kingdom’s finest agricultural and equine colleges, Bishop Burton College.

Dressage results

After Thursday’s dressage, Germany’s Rebecca-Juana Gerken and Scipio S are in the lead with 43.5. Tied for second are Great Britain’s Sara Ashworth on Glenomra Hero and Sam Ecroyd on Wodan III, both with scores of 45.6.

On Friday, dressage will continue with the final group including Emily King the daughter of Mary King. Emily was named as a member of the British junior team after the first horse inspection. She won the individual silver medal in 2012, on Brookleigh. Brookleigh is a horse that was discovered and rode by Canadian coach Clayton Fredericks before it went to Emily.
