Phoenix: Pavarotti replaces A Little Romance due to injury

SeminoleWellness2017_770x170

Unfortunately, A Little Romance has a foot abscess after pulling a shoe on Friday while making her last gallop before leaving for the World Equestrian Games (WEG).

Jessica stated in the press release, “Don and Anita Leschied and I feel it’s in A Little Romance’s best interest to withdraw her from the WEG as she heals from this injury. We want to thank Equine Canada for their diligence, assistance and support in handling this situation and for giving A Little Romance the opportunity to represent Canada. This horse has an amazing future ahead of her and we are excited to see her back in competition in the near future.”

Her alternate mount Pavarotti, a 12-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Don J. Good will replace A Little Romance.

We are so sorry for Don and Anita Leschied, but happy that this awesome little mare will make a full recovery.

Team Canada is now:
Peter Barry, Kilrodan Abbott
Hawley Bennett-Awad, Gin & Juice
Selena O’Hanlon, Foxwood High
Jessica Phoenix, Pavarotti
