Wits End wrap up

Good luck to everyone competing at Wits End this weekend!

Breathtaking views, acres of rolling hills, and challenging courses were the backdrop for Wits End Horse Trials in Mulmur, Ontario this past weekend. The province’s eventing community was out in full force with over 150 horses competing. It was a treat for spectators and riders to have Jessica Phoenix competing before she flies to Europe on Tuesday for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

For the riders
The show ran over two days with divisions for every level of riding from pre-entry to intermediate. The grass showjumping ring with a bit of terrain demanded balance and accuracy from the riders. The cross-country was not dauntingly large but asked some technical questions and made good use of the natural hilly landscape.

For the fans
The show organizers made it an absolute pleasure for the fans to get to the different phases on the sprawling property. There was an all-day shuttle service moving people from parking to the rings. The sound system was remarkable and could be heard clearly on the entire grounds. Washroom facilities were conveniently placed everywhere on the property.

Situated only about 1.5 hours northwest of Toronto, this is a show that you must add to your competition and viewing schedule for 2015.
