Trot pole exercises straight from an Olympic medalist – VIDEO Break

Olympic show jumping silver medalist, Peder Fredricson (SWE) shares one of his favourite trot pole exercises. The purpose of this trot pole exercise is to teach a horse how to collect and lengthen its stride, while staying relaxed. Having an adjustable horse is critical to your performance in all three phases of Eventing.  If an Olympic medalist has an exercise in his playbook there is likely a good reason for practicing it… Watch this video so you can school your horse through this exercise during your next ride.   Malin and Peder’s best exercises – Second lesson

Eventing Prix gallery – Who is the most stylish show jumper of them all?

Yesterday, many of the top riders in North America were contesting the $15,000 Ocala Horse Properties Eventing Prix Invitational at Southern Cross Equestrian. Lauren Kieffer and Meadowbrook’s Scarlett put in a foot perfect jump off round to win the individual portion of the competition and secure the victory for her team “USA” ( Phillip Dutton, Lynn Symansky and Buck Davidson). Kylie Lyman and Da Vinci Code finished 2nd individually and I have to give Kylie props for delivering one ballsy jump off round. This strange situation happened to Jessica Phoenix (CAN) and Bentley’s Best at yesterday’s Eventing Prix Invitational at Southern Cross Equestrian. Do to the surprise they had a stop, waited for the rail to be reset then jumped it no problem the second time. But it turns out this will result in penalty points for a refusal and time. The only way to avoid incurring faults…

Perfect Eventing pony prospect? – VIDEO Break

This pony definitely has no fear of water. Do you think this cute little guy would make the ideal Eventing candidate? Or would his love for water likely prove problematic if he decided to take a quick roll in the middle of the water complex on cross-country? Either way at least you do not have to bathe him, he is self-cleaning! Scooters favorite thing to do after it rains. He did this three times! Scooter is a rescue pony that was a few days from death when we got him. He is doing great now! ~Glenn, Horses in the Morning Radio Show Posted by…
