Over the last two years, many of our readers shared comments that HAVE actually made it onto dressage tests. There have been so many colourful dressage judge comments, we have enough gems for a series – Dressage judge comments scribes did write. So far this series has been going for two years strong.
The dressage judges who let their scribes write these comments, certainly were not sugarcoating anything. Thank-you to all the riders who shared these hilarious, real life comments. Despite what a judge writes on your test, this phase of Eventing remains interesting when the unexpected happens. Thank you to all the good sports who are sharing some of their most humiliating dressage moments with a sense of humour.

“Horrible. But he got better after he got spanked.”
So my 5 year old GREEN 17hh pony was refusing to move forward, being new at dressage, I wasn’t sure if I should smack him with the whip in the rear. He was being a total jerk. Finally I cracked his butt and he realized I meant business. – Mason

My mare did a perfectly strait entrance, marred by the fact that her head was up so the judge could see her brain. It wasn’t the best test I rode, but I liked my comments. – Keegan Wallace

I was in my first dressage schooling show with my Hunter Under Saddle horse. I thought we did fairly well, but my score sheet was completely blank. The scribe later told me the judge was totally silent through my entire test and after my final salute. – Melanie Robinson
